    In 1762 William Gates sold 100 acres on Skinquarter Creek to George Robertson, his likely brother-in-law. The Virginia Genealogist, V.46 #2, p.140

    Upon his death, George willed the 100 acres on Skinquarter Creek to his son James Robertson, plus 125 acres to son George, and 200 acres to son Lodewick.

    The Descendants of Jeffrey Robertson 16__- 1734 of Henrico County, Virginia states that George Robertson married Mildred _____ and they had a son Nathaniel Robertson b.1734 prior to his marriage to Jane Gates.

    Occupation: Planter. Jeffrey was a man of means and influence. He was educated in Scotland and visited there on occasion. He owned a very large amount of land in a well populated section of Virginia. Angus P. Robinson

    Emigrated in 1698 to Jamestown on ship The Blessing.

    Jeffrey bought 250 acres on both sides of Skinquarter Creek where it joins the Appomattox River from a relative, Gilbert Bowman, in 1731. It was there where he died.
