Notes:

Sometime during the 1870's Charles S and Martha Kiddoo Zentmire went to western Iowa, and in 1877 they moved to Rice County, Kansas. The move there was made in a covered wagon. They lived on a farm until June 1880 when an epidemic of typhoid took the lives of Charles and Martha in Valley Twp, Rice Co. Their grandmother and an uncle came to Kansas to get their 3 small girls and took them back to family in Mercer Co, Illinois.

Martha married Charles Sylvester ZENTMIRE 30 Dec 1869, Mercer, Illinois. Charles (son of David ZENTMIRE and Dianna Amanda MINICK) was born 1846, Ohio; died 09 Jun 1880, Lyons, Rice, Kansas; was buried Lyons Municipal Cemetery, Lyons, Rice, Kansas. [Group Sheet]

1. Eliza Matilda ZENTMIRE was born 27 Aug 1872, Pottawattamie, Iowa.
2. Cora/Laura Diana ZENTMIRE was born 14 Dec 1870, Mercer, Illinois; died 08 Jan 1901; was buried 09 Jan 1901, at sea, off Monrovia, Liberia, Africa.
3. Mary Lulu ZENTMIRE was born 22 Nov 1874, Oakland, Iowa; died 02 Dec 1905, Bloomington, McClean, Iowa; was buried Millersburg Twp., Mercer, Iowa.
