Marriage Bond for James Robertson and Ruth Young

This is a Marriage Bond, it is not a marriage record. A Bond was an indication of an intention to marry, but we have found no record for this marriage taking place. Bondsman Joshua J. Young was Ruth's brother. There is family lore that Ruth's family disinherited her because of her relationship with James, who was 62 years old when he partnered with the then 30-year-old Ruth, if the 1775 birth year is correct.
